Community Cat Winter Care Workshop – Iowa City
November 7 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm CST
The colder months can be rough for outdoor, community cats in Iowa. With a little bit of help from a caretaker and trap-neuter-return, feral and stray cats can live long, healthy lives.
In support of Iowa City’s progressive decision to allow citizens to Trap-Neuter-Return community cats, Iowa Humane Alliance (IHA) will be conducting a Winter Care Workshop to provide resources how to best keep these community cats warm and safe through the cold Iowa weather. IHA will also plan on offering a TNR Workshop early next spring.
The Winter Care Workshop will be held at the Iowa City Animal Center (3910 Napoleon Ln) from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, November 7th.
Experienced colony cat caretakers will be available at this workshop offering life-saving tips and advice to help you care for community cats. This workshop will also feature take-home styrofoam shelters, a surprise door prize, and a take-home “Winter Care Guide.” Applications for UNASH spay/neuter assistance will also be available at this event for Johnson County residents.
Please feel call 319-363-1225 or email our Program Coordinator, Sam, at programs@iowahumanealliance.
Together, we can improve our community; for both humans and felines! See you there!
