Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) and Community Cat Care Workshop – Wellington Heights
April 7 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm CDT
This Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) and Community Cat Care Workshop is a fantastic opportunity to learn practical skills and knowledge of what is considered best practice in controlling outdoor (or community) cat populations. TNR saves lives, money, and can save our peace of mind.
TNR is the most effective, affordable, and humane way to solve the community cat over-population crisis. The Community Cat Team of Iowa Humane Alliance (IHA) will provide a motivating TNR and Colony Cat Care Workshop in at Wellington Heights Resource Center. All community members from Cedar Rapids and surrounding areas are encouraged to come join in this experience. Come learn how to directly help those living in your area; both human and feline!
This TNR workshop will be hosted on Friday, April 7th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and is free to attend. We will be accepting free-will donations at the workshop to support our life-saving resources that we offer through the I-TRAP Program. Iowa Humane Alliance is dedicated to lowering animal shelter admissions and ending euthanasia as a form of population control. A vital part of achieving this mission is implementing Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs in our communities. IHA provides resources and information to help the community participate in the animal welfare movement of TNR.
This workshop will be conducted by experienced live-humane trappers and caretakers of community cats. We will cover the mechanics of how to safely TNR cats, the community benefits of TNR, how to provide care to community cats, and how to talk to others about TNR.
