Our regional clinic, located in Cedar Rapids, is the first of its kind in Iowa and we routinely accomplish our goal of performing 55-60 surgeries per day. Since opening in 2013, we have spayed or neutered over 80,000 animals, addressing the pet overpopulation crisis.

Spay Neuter Surgical Veterinarian
Join our team to hone your surgical skills and receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus and $10,000 in student loan repayment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform 35 spay neuter surgeries in a normal workday
- 10 canine surgeries of varying ages and weights of either sex
- 25 feline surgeries with approximately 40% being community cats
- Pre-surgical and post-surgical exams.
- Perform all surgical duties adhering to IHA’s standardized techniques and protocols

- Right flank spay technique for all female felines
- Canine castration is scrotal, closed cord technique with deep SQ closure only

This position pays a salary range of $90,000-$105,000, compensating for relevant experience. Benefits include; sign-on bonus of $5,000, repayment of student loans (eligible for over $10,000 during initial 18 month period), 6 paid holidays, paid vacation which increases with longevity, membership to a national organization, reimbursement for costs incurred relating to CE hours, at-cost pet care/prescriptions, and a stipend for health insurance. A typical day is 8-8 ½ hours (between 8 am-5 pm) Monday – Friday. We would prefer a candidate wanting a full-time position with relevant experience, but this is not a requirement. We are open-minded, flexible, and willing to train on-site at our clinic.
